Levenhuk sunscreens are made from special German Baader Planetarium film. Thanks to them, it is possible to safely observe the Sun without worrying about possible permanent damage to the eyes.

The AstroSolar visual film from Baader Planetarium allows high-quality viewing during solar observations. Even at 60x magnification, it is possible to see some details, such as the grainy appearance of the solar surface. With higher magnification it is possible to recognize the structure of the spots and the facula.

Through these filters, the observed image of the Sun is neutral white.

How to choose the correct solar filter for telescope

When choosing a solar filter it is necessary to consider other elements in addition to the design of the optics and the aperture of the telescope, since the filter must not only completely cover the objective, but also adhere perfectly to the telescope tube. It is also advisable to secure the filter to the optical tube with adhesive tape, to prevent it from accidentally slipping during observation.

The main criterion for choosing the right solar filter is the diameter of the telescope tube/anti-condensation band in relation to the internal diameter of the filter (if it must adhere to the outside of the tube) or to the external diameter ( if the filter must be placed inside the tube). Before purchasing this filter please measure the appropriate tube diameter of your telescope, making sure it corresponds to the values in the Technical Specifications table.

The filter can also be used with telescopes from other manufacturers that have a similar design and the same tube diameter. It is recommended to check the internal and external diameter of the telescope's optical tube before purchasing the filter.

WARNING! Never observe the Sun directly, even for an instant, through the telescope or finder without using professionally made solar filters that completely cover the aperture of the instrument, to avoid permanent damage to the eyes.
