“From the jungle to the steppes, from the mountains to the coasts, the astonishing wide-angle field of view enormously helps the observer to immediately frame the entire environment that surrounds it,” explains Dr. Gerold Dobler, head of Product Management at ZEISS. Fast-moving birds and animals can be acquired quickly and observed with greater accuracy, the censuses are much more precise and the observation itself benefits. In the magnification range of 22 to 65 with the 85mm telescope, images of moving animals are no longer a problem, but a pleasure, thanks to the large field of view combined with the triple zoom range. Prolonged observation does not tire the eye in the slightest. “Furthermore, we positioned the magnification ring behind the focus ring, so as to make both adjustments immediate, even when, during long excursions, in different environments, you need to find the right setting immediately,” explains Dobler.
Fast focusing thanks to the Dual-Speed-Focus mechanism.
At a minimum focal distance of just 3.5 meters with the 85mm objective diameter telescope, you can enjoy a great optical power for observing insects and small birds. However, the Dual-Speed-Focus focusing mechanism allows, thanks to the two integrated adjustment speeds, both to focus with great precision in the close-up range and to quickly switch to longer distances, at every magnification.
