Objective with 40x magnification and maximum resolution of 0.46 µm. It is designed for installation in a metallurgical microscope. It can be used to observe objects with a non-flat surface. To avoid damaging the lens surface under such conditions, the lens is designed for a long working distance of 3.98mm. When working with the lens a cover glass is not used.

The plan achromatic objective eliminates chromatic distortion for blue and red colors and spherical distortion for green. The field of view is wide and without distortion due to the property of planachromatic lenses to correct field curvature by 90%.

The lens is designed for infinity; its parfocality is 45 mm. Works well with wide field of view (22mm) eyepieces. The best image detail can be obtained with eyepieces with magnification of 7x to 15x. When combined with a 10x/22mm eyepiece, it will produce a 0.55mm field of view. The useful magnification of the microscope when working with this objective will be 300–600x.
