MAGUS CHD50 digital camera - MAGUS
MAGUS CHD50 is a camera designed to be integrated with a microscope. The device has built-in software that can be used to take photos and videos, process the results and take measurements of the subject. Three types of interfaces (HDMI, WLAN and USB 2.0) connect the camera to a computer or other device capable of viewing photos and videos. The 8 MP sensor creates high-quality images in 4K resolution (3840x2160 px) and the camera can automatically switch to Full HD (1920x1080 px) playback if required by the external display. The video frame rate is 30 fps. The device is equipped with an autofocus function. The result is a high-quality, realistic and detailed image without lag, tearing or blurring, even if the subject is moving.

Sensor
The device is built on an 8MP SONY Starvis CMOS sensor. The backlight method produces a light sensitivity of 505 mV at a shutter speed of 1/30 second. The sensor size is 1/1.8'' with a pixel size of 2.0x2.0 μm. To create the widest field of view without distortion, use an adapter with magnification from 0.5x to 0.75x.
Software
The camera can be connected to a computer via USB 2.0 and WLAN as well as to a TV, monitor or projector via the HDMI connector. With an HDMI connection, the camera automatically focuses on the subject, resulting in sharp photos or videos without any extra effort. The software allows you to edit the resulting image as well as measure the linear and angular dimensions of objects and their structures. To take measurements, calibrate the camera software for each lens using a calibration slide.
Installing the Microscope
You can integrate the camera with the microscope installing it in the trinocular tube or eyepiece tube in place of an eyepiece. In both cases, you will need a C-mount adapter. To connect to the eyepiece tube you will also need an adapter ring that fits its diameter.
Additional devices
For more efficient operation, it is recommended to connect the camera with additional devices. Using a mouse will remove vibrations when making direct contact with the camera (connects via USB port). You can save photos and videos to an SD card or flash drive. To create a complete imaging system you can use special MAGUS monitors. They can be installed directly on the camera and integrated with any MAGUS microscope.
