Flash hole deburring tool
During the manufacturing process of the cartridge case, some small particles of
burrs are often left inside the case at the same location
of the flash hole. Such particles can cause misfire
of the trigger. Redding makes two different tools for deburring the flash hole. Both tools use pilots
stop which are listed on the next page.
The Universal Flash Hole Deburring Tool is compatible with all calibers a
starting in .22 through .338, using standard size flash holes
(0.080”). This tool controls very precisely the
depth of cut thanks to an integrated stop that perfectly locates the edge of the case. It also uses standard pilot stops for
3/16” chucks.
On the other hand, the small Flash Hole Deburring Toll is compatible with .17 and .20 calibers and all cases with a small flash hole (0.060”).
However, this tool does not control the depth of cut. The shooter must
control the depth of cut using the 'pilot stop small' for
9/64” spindles.
