The Ermenrich NetGeeks NL80 network cable length meter can measure cables up to 1,000 meters long and is equipped with various other features. This instrument, in fact, is able to test cables for open circuits (interruptions) and short circuits, as well as crossed, reversed or split pairs. It can also measure the distance to the point of circuit break or fault that caused a short circuit. The Ermenrich NetGeeks NL80 can trace cables, detect which cable within a bundle is connected to a router or switch, perform PoE and PING tests, and save the results to a memory card.
This cable length meter is suitable for various types of cables: STP/UTP network cables (CAT5E, CAT6, CAT6A, CAT7), telephone cables, coaxial cables, common metal cables. Its method of operation is based on the TDR technique (time domain pulse reflectometry). The results are extremely accurate and there is an option to calibrate the instrument. This instrument is protected against crosstalk.
All devices included in the package are powered by rechargeable batteries. A transmitter can run for up to 20 hours on a single charge, while a receiver has up to 50 hours of battery life. There is an automatic shutdown function.
